PRIDE 2016

The New York City Gay Men’s Chorus and Broadway Stars Launch the Biggest Pride Event in Westchester County.

Hosted by The LOFT LGBT Community Center.

LOFT Pride 2016 Saturday, June 4th,12pm-5pm

In June of 1969 the Stonewall Riots occurred sparking a unified uprising of the LGBT community. The LGBT community and our allies honor and celebrate June as Pride month. The LOFT: LGBT Community Services Center invites all to be part of Westchester’s annual celebration at LOFT Pride 2016 on Saturday, June 4th.

This year promises to be Westchester’s biggest and best Pride festival yet with an anticipated crowd of 700+ and an exciting entertainment line-up including Broadway Sings for PRIDE featuring performers from Broadway musicals, Magician-Illusionist David Rosenstein and TONEWALL the premier pop acapella group of the NYC Gay Men’s Chorus

 

LOFT Pride is a family-friendly day featuring great activities including a Pride Photo booth, PRIDE pet costume contest, and fun activities for kids, including a bounce house, professional face painting and over 35 food, merchandise and service  vendors.

There will also be a talent show with a $350 cash prize, a raffle (prizes: a pair of round trip airline tickets, a weekend getaway package for two at Rainbow Mountain Resort, dinner & show for two at Westchester Broadway Theater) and a 50/50 cash raffle.

Broadway Sings for Pride is a multiple award-wining is a non-for-profit organization that brings together Broadway talent, activists and celebrities to educate the public, raise awareness of the needs of LGBTQ youth. Performers who will be representing Broadway Sings for Pride at LOFT Pride 2016 include:

  • Matt DeAngelis (Broadway: Hair Revival, West End: Hair Revival, National Tours: Once, American Idiot, Hair)
  • Christine Dwyer (Starred as Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway, Second National Tour, National Tour of Rent)
  • Adam B. Shapiro (HBO Film’s The Normal Heart, NBC’s The Mystery of Laura, Netflix’s Master of None)

David Rosenstein, 18, has been captivating audiences across the NY tri-state area for over a decade. Ever since he was first hired to perform at a fellow 2nd grader’s birthday party, David’s unparalleled enthusiasm and mesmerizing illusions have entertained thousands over the years. As a proud member of the LGBT community, David is thrilled to share his magic at the LOFT 2016 Pride.

About Stephanie & Wayne

Stephanie is a journalist, writer, editor, and has had several hundred articles published in various newspapers and magazines, many of which still are available online under “Stephanie Lyons Schultz”. She has a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology and was a practicing psychotherapist. She currently is a professor of psychology at WCSU and NVCC in Connecticut. Wayne is an Emmy-Award winning writer, producer, and director. He has produced many programs and documentaries that have appeared on television, and have been distributed to schools, libraries, and home video. Wayne also is a practicing attorney with a Masters degree in Law from NYU. In addition, he is a professor of communications at WCSU. Together, this recently wed couple write, produce, and direct as many of their stage, screen, and TV projects as they can with a full house -- their combined brood of seven! Some of their work has been featured this summer and fall off off Broadway; other work currently is under option. They hope to continue to promote more of their projects in the coming months!
